In the Bregenzerwald, I feel at home. The people of Bregenzerwald are proud and strong in character, yet they are wonderful and courteous hosts for travelers. A phrase that encapsulates the essence of the Bregenzerwald region perfectly is: "We honor the old and greet the new, and remain true to ourselves and our homeland" (Johann Gebhard Wölfle).
Scenically, the Bregenzerwald is a jewel, showcasing its distinctive mountain peaks in a wild and romantic manner. The Vorder- and Mittelbregenzerwald are more gentle, with soft, often wooded, green ridges welcoming newcomers.
The region has long been known for its traditional crafts and architecture. Numerous cultural events, music festivals, museums, and exhibitions add to the variety of offerings in exciting ways. This multifaceted region is characterized by a three-tiered agricultural system, where the production of mountain cheese plays an important role. During the annual journey of cows from their home farms to the alpine pastures, the Vorsäß traditionally serves as an intermediate stage.

Schetteregg is a natural paradise that quickly captures the hearts of hikers and skiers alike. This small yet charming family ski area is a true gem. The district of the market town of Egg in the Mittelbregenzerwald is about 8.5 km from the town center. At an altitude of 1060 meters, it has become a haven of protected moor landscapes, prominent mountains, and rolling green hills. Accessibility is convenient and easy via the municipal road or public bus service. Forests, lush alpine meadows, and rushing streams extend as far as the eye can see.
